Apart from cleaning up spam, I have not deleted an email from my inbox since 2006.

When I check email I read every subject line for any new ones and open the ones that are important. I scroll until I reach a previously opened email so I know what's new since I last checked. Spam and receipts and whatnot stay unread in my inbox forever.
